The Ride

The roads of Portugal have been really great roads to ride on. The roads are well maintained, have an unlimited number of turns, rolling hills, rises, drops, and the like. These roads can be somewhat remote, at some times having up to 20 miles between towns, but that’s really no different from parts of the US, where it is common to travel 20 miles or more to the next exit, or stop.

So, here we are, another day of riding some of the best motorcycling roads in the world. What’s not to like about all of this?

The weather

Today’s weather check showed that we might experience rain, but the more likely scenario is that the rain would continue on it’s trajectory, always staying out in front of us. So, we’re optimistic that we’ll make it to the hotel without any real inclement weather.

What will tomorrow bring

Tomorrow we head back to Malaga, where we’ll drop off the bike with the mechanics, spend one day without the bike, and then pick up the exact same bike for the trip around Morocco. As has been the case for the last few weeks, the real story is the weather of Spain and Portugal.

There have been severe storms across Spain, and we’re curious about what Doug and Lars are experiencing, and whether they’ll get stuck somewhere and have to hunker down.

As for us, we’re once again hopeful that we’ll miss the bad weather, but who knows…
